New art project appeals for natural image contributions to build a whopping great map of the UK. Confused? It's actually quite straightforward and a really good idea.

Here's one for all you budding photographers out there, it's a new
project called The Big Picture of Natural Britain and you can
be a part of it.
Run by an organisation called Living Art, which is a
web-based, not-fot-profit group, the idea is to bring artists,
photographers and the public together to produce and promote work
inspired by nature.
The Big Picture is intended to be the first 'online portrait' of
our natural heritage in the form of a public work of art, a giant
aerial map of Great Britain made up of a mosaic of natural images
which will be printed onto a giant panel and displayed at venues
across the UK.
There should be several of the panels and the map will also be
shown online and be available as posters and framed prints.
So where do you come in? Living Art is inviting members of the
public to submit images taken from anywhere in the UK. Subjects can
be landscape, flora or fauna or people enjoying the landscape. The
images will be placed in the relevant area of the map.
All you need to do to get involved is go to www.living-art.org.uk
and follow the relevant link to register and contribute images.
Contributors will get a free mini site for their images and, at
the end of the project, a free print.
All profits from the sale of promotional products go to UK
wildlife trusts, so you're not being ruthlessly exploited.
We know from the OM Gallery that there are some lovely images out
there, so why not get involved in what looks like a fascinating and
unusual project?
