Berghaus and Tiso are working together to support Scottish Mountain Rescue throughout September with 5 per-cent of the sales revenue from key Berghaus products in Tiso's Scottish stores and online going to the 31 official rescue teams north of the border.

The initiative is aimed both at helping to support the teams directly, but also to draw attention to their work which is carried out on a voluntary basis and co-ordinated by the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland, a charity that relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations.

There are around 500 call-outs a year in the Scottish mountains and with winter approaching, it's an ideal time for a funding boost.

Stuart Ruffell, team leader of Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team, commented:

"As a charity, Scottish Mountain Rescue relies on the dedication of the many volunteers who are team members.  We are on call 365 days of the year and we also train every week.  Finding time to raise much needed funds on top of that commitment is incredibly difficult, so initiatives like this are very welcome."
