If you missed out on the Kendal
Mountain Festival at the weekend, don't despair, you can
still catch some of the best
of the films from Kendal, including some of the main prize
winners - at Best of Kendal showings in Nottingham and Sheffield next week.

Kendal evenings
There are two Sheffield
evenings, both with different programmes on consecutive evenings. On Monday 30 November
you can see six films including Afghanistan – A Small Flame Of
Hope the winner of Best Short Film, Samsara, winner of Best
Mountaineering Film and The Asgard Project, winner of the People's
Choice Award.
On Tuesday 1 December,
there are another six features including The Cable Car, which took the
Judges' Special Prize, Alone On The Wall, winner of the Best Climbing
Film and the Grand Prize and One Crazy Ride, winner of the Best
Mountain Culture Film.
Both evenings are at the Showroom Cinema in Paternoster Row, Sheffield,

The Nottingham
evening is on Sunday 6
December at 8.30 pm and features the same programme as the
first Sheffield evening including The Asgard Project. Venue is the
Broadway Cinema, 14-18 Broad St, Nottingham, NG1 3AL. Tickets
£6.50 concessions, £7.50 full

Wow, just back from the first Sheffield evening including the Asgard Project film which is quite, quite epic. Highlight tomorrow night is the film that won the climbing prize and grand prize at Kendal and isn't even available on DVD etc, worth a trip if you're within striking distance of Sheff', I think. Nice cafe at the Showroom cinema too, food, beer, etc.
