Very sad news from France where two British climbers including the youngest Briton to climb Everest, have died in an accident on Mont Blanc.

Rob Gauntlett, 21, was just 19 when he summited Everest in 2006 becoming the youngest Briton to stand on the highest point on earth. The other climber who died has been named as James Atkinson, also 21.

Our sympathies to their friends and families. More details at news.bbc.co.uk where there's also a video clip about Gauntlett's self-propelled pole to pole journey. Clearly a remarkable guy.
