Two mountain rescues this weekend gone, one on Ben Nevis when a walker taking part in a Three Peaks charity challenge event tripped and knocked her head leaving her unconcious, the other on Snowdon where a climber was helicoptered out after a fall on Snowdon.

The Ben Nevis incident occurred on Saturday night when the woman, reportedly tripped and fell, at an altitude of around 1500 metres. Unluckily she hit her head, was knocked unconcious and stretchered off by the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and taken to hospital for observation.

The team also assisted another charity walker some 500 feet higher up the mountain and in the same area there were two helicopter rescues, one on Ben Nevis and one in Glencoe when a man fell from the Aonach Eagach ridge. Full details at www.pressandjournal.co.uk.

The Snowdon incident happened when a climber from London reportedly fell around 50 feet on Lliwedd injuring his leg. Both he and his climbing partner were airlifted off by a helicopter from RAF Valley. Full details at news.bbc.co.uk.
