Buy A Goat For Yvon Chouinard...
We've got two Chouinard-signed Kendal Mountain Film Festival posters to raise money for a good cause, so we thought we'd buy a goat - confused, it's simple really...
If
you read the report
from last weekend's Kendal Mountain Film Festival, you'll know that
Yvon Chouinard was kind enough to sign a couple of festival posters -
right - for us.
So, for one week only, here's the chance to bid for one of these
lovely KMFF posters, signed by the legendary climber and founder of
Patagonia and Black Diamond. I asked Yvon what project he'd like the
money to go towards, and he said, well, why don't you decide... So we
had a think, and thought it might be nice to buy Yvon Chouinard a
Christmas present, sort of...
If you win the auction, we'll send you the poster and use the
money to send Yvon Chouinard a pressie in your name from the Oxfam
Christmas catalogue at www.oxfamunwrapped.com.
When environmental disaster hits the poorest countries, Oxfam
provides emergency relief in the immediate aftermath, but also works
in the long-term to help people get back on their feet and rebuild
their lives, with projects like
this flood protection scheme in Bangladesh.
As an example, £25 buys a goat from Oxfam's rent-a-goat
scheme, £16 buys 50 tree seedlings and £35 buys a bicycle
for a health visitor. We quite like the idea of a goat for Yvon,
particularly as through Patagonia and his 'One Per Cent for the
Planet' scheme, he's commited to raising money for environmental
causes - and he's a bit of a mountain goat of course.

The best two bids submitted as of 4pm on Friday win, and in
exchange for your donation, you'll receive a lovely poster signed by
Yvon Chouinard and we'll send him a Christmas card on your behalf
telling him how many goats his signature is worth.
So what are you waiting for? Happy bidding... Use the forum link
below to get your offer in.

Absolutely certain of it! Patagonia is all in favour of sustainable agriculture and according to Oxfam, a goat is 'a living bank'. So... who's putting the first bid on the kid then :-)
