A quick advance date for the diary with the news that Cliffhanger 2010, Sheffield's very own outdoor, outdoors festival runs over the weekend of 3-4 July in Millhouses Park.
Hyperactive organiser Matt Heason - the man behind ShAFF and numerous other Sheffield events - is going to be feeding us information in the lead up to the event and launched this year's festival last week with the help of world downhill mountain bike champion, Steve Peat, himself a Sheffield local.
Unfortunately we missed out on the opportunity to pass on some of our wicked mountain bike skillz advice to Peaty, but the point of his attendance was to illustrate one of the attractions on the day, the chance to try mountain biking on purpose-built wooden obstacles - do they mean North Shore?
There's set to be plenty more at the event including a bit of a coup, with the UK round of the IFSC Bouldering World Cup taking place on a purpose-built bouldering wall as part of the weekend, so you'll have the opportunity of watching world-class rock climbers in action.
Slightly more prosaically, you'll be able to try activities like climbing and biking for yourself, tackle an assault course and get paws-on with activities like kayaking, free running, adventure racing, orienteeering and skateboarding.
Cliffhanger spokesperson Kevin Cheetham said: "We've always strived to make Cliffhanger the perfect event for anyone from the serious climber to the family that enjoys a leisurely stroll and each year but this year we are really set to move up a gear and add a major boost for Sheffield's bid to become the UK's City of Culture. Landing the IFSC Bouldering World Cup is a massive coup for the city and shows just how far Cliffhanger has come in the last four years."
