Licence to thrill as Berghaus commercial launches alongside new Bond film. See it here...
The new
James Bond film,
Quantum Of Solace,
is out later this month and running before it - da, da, da, da, da,
dadada, da, da, da, da.... da etc - is a brand
new Berghaus cinema commercial
featuring sponsored athletes Leo Houlding and Anniken Binns hurling
themselves off a Norwegian cliff for the cameras...
The ad', which features clothing from the new Berghaus Autumn/Winter
2008
range, was thought up by Berghaus's team of sponsored athletes at a
brain-storming session at their Sunderland HQ, then filmed at one of
the world's top base-jumping venues, Kjerag, an 1100-metre mountain in
Norway with a 984-metre drop from the top of its north face.
The result is going to be pretty dramatic, particularly on a whopping
great cinema-sized screen and you can see it at
www.berghaus.com
where there's also a cracking ten-minute 'making of' film that goes
right through from the intial brain-storming session to the final take
in Norway.
It's rather reassuring to see that top Norwegian base jumper, Binns,
while quite happy to leap off massive cliffs suspended only by a large
handkerchief, is slightly less sanguine about sitting on a portaledge
drinking coffee above a yawning void...
Definitely worth ten minutes of your lunch break. It's sobering to see
just how much effort went into making a 30-second film.
