Yes, if you take lunch with you when you go walking, climbing or, erm, similar, then the BBC could make you a star...

Sorry, couldn't resist the latest news item on the BMC web site which is an appeal from a new BBC2 programme 'The Nation's Favourite Food'. Yep, in our increasingly Warholesque world, all you have to do is be able to eat lunch to claim your 15 minutes of fame.

The complete article, which we've shamelessly stolen, reads:

'We are particularly looking at lunch at the moment and are hoping to find people who eat lunch in different ways - so if you mountaineer, rock climb, hill walk (or anything similar!) and take lunch with you - then we'd like to hear from you!

Please do call Emma for a chat, in confidence, on 020 8752 6179 and I will return your call as soon as possible. Or you can email me at emma.parkins@bbc.co.uk

We're not sure what this says about the BMC or what on earth you'd have to be eating to want to talk to Emma 'in confidence' - babies? - but hey, what are you waiting for, fame beckons...

Ooops, the BMC web site is very good, you can see it here.

Mine was pancakes with syrup cooked on an MSR XGK on a perfect tropical beach on the northern, Carribean coast of Colombia while the sky turned a weird pink and the sun hung like a great, golden orb in an azure blue sky (sic.) Or maybe paella in the Picos, which probably tasted better but wasn't as surreal...

For lunch today I had a sandwich made from leftover roast guinea fowl and plum chutney. And jolly good it was too. Sorry, my gustatory recall doesn't extend beyond that.

I had a rather nice quorn "turkey and stuffing" sanger, with a rather tasty yoghurt! Oh and a great banana!
