A quick diary reminder for Peak-based OMers with the chance to
drink beer in aid of mountain rescue looming from Wednesday
11 July.
As
we told you a month or so back, Sheffield brewery Abbeydale has
produced a special beer called Salvation, which will be sold in aid
of the Edale Mountain Rescue Team.
The beer's due to be launched on the first night of a beer
festival organised by the brewery which will take place at the
Rising Sun Pub at 471 Fulwood Road in Sheffield and
starts at 8.00 pm on Wednesday 11th July.
Entry to the event is £2.50 which includes a souvenir
Festival glass and programme. Along with the new Salvation brew,
there will be over 50 real ales to try and the festival runs until
5pm on Saturday 15 July.
Edale MRT is the Abbeydale Road Brewery's nominated charity for
this event, which is great news for the team and Peak District
walkers, climbers and mountain bikers.

Cheers Jon for publishing this article, several of the team will also be there for the launch. I of course need no excuse to drink beer and will hope to see some of you like minded reprobates there.

I don't drink... but mountain rescue need not fear for their funding. Tomorrow night a few of us are having a meal in exchange for a donation to mountain rescue, and someone from the mountain rescue is going to give us an illustrated talk. Good luck with your own bash Judith!
