Dundee Mountain Film Festival Incoming

A quick heads up that Dundee Mountain Film Festival is taking place in the last weekend of November and it looks like an interesting line-up.

Reinhold Messner will be on the spot but unfortunately you’d need to time travel back a few weeks to get tickets for his talk, he’s that popular. All is not lost though as the programme includes two films about Messner’s life in case you don’t get to see the man himself. Other speakers include Dave MacLeod – of E11 fame – and Dave Whalley.

There’ll also be a trade show where you can fill any holes in your winter wardrobe, or use any other excuse you can think of to stock up on a bit of extra gear. As the organizers points out, the show is:

“an ideal opportunity to buy that elusive perfect Christmas present - and you thought you were avoiding Christmas shopping by coming to the festival!”

Oh dear, that’s our second mention of Christmas this year and it’s still only November:-)

One more item on the programme that jumped out at us is the art exhibition which, amongst other things, features photographs from 75 years of Mountain Rescue Teams. The MRTs do a great job of making sure we’re all as safe as possible out on the hills so it’s good to see them in the line-up.

Add to that a stack of films to watch, and for once you won’t be able to complain if it’s a wet weekend:-)
