Weekend Weather
18th-21st April 2003
|
This is our regular
round-up of what's in store for the weekend. Latest news on
the excellent Online Weather mountain forecast, is that it's
now due back in early February, which is about erm last
month and now the month before. But it's still not quite
up...
The Met
Office says Friday's
going to be mainly dry with lots of sun, much like today in fact. Come the weekend though there'll be more cloud, with sunny intervals in the north and west and gloomier skies in the south and east. Temperatures will drop day by day til on Monday the current good weather will seem like a dream.
The BBC
Weather site uses Met Office
data, but is generally easier to follow.
Friday Bright and sunny, much like today
Weekend Clouds and then rainy spells begin to move up from the south and east with the worst of it on Staurday for southern and eastern parts and on Sunday for the north and west.
By Monday The north and west are still in for dark clouds, while the south is beginning to see some sunny intervals again and temperatures back up over 10 degrees.
Check BBC's specific areas:
Fort
William / Kendal
/ Betws-y-Coed
/ Aviemore
/ Skipton
/ Glossop
(Peak) / Brecon
/ Milton
Keynes. Eastern Scotland looks
the best bet if you want to stay dry...
tomorrow's
general forecast from Online
Weather is dry and sunny with gentle winds. Hmmmm.... Still no mountain
weather.

web cam page Links to all the UK
mountain web cams we're aware of. If there's one that we've
missed, please drop
us a line and we'll add it to the
page. Good for getting a general idea of what the snow
situation's like, if the sun is shining, whether there's
anywhere to park in Coniston etc. Check the image you're
viewing is up to date as they often seem to go down. Ho
hum...
Looking good for tomorrow
The rest of the weekend won't live up to the stuff we've got at the moment.
Verdict After Friday we're going to see temperatures drop below 10 again and clouds and rain making an appearance. Those further south have a better chance of catching rays again come Monday.
Craven Disclaimer Hey come on,
we all know mountain weather's unpredictable, and while the
above forecasts and links are a guide to what the weather
may do, remember that mountain areas also tend to generate
their own conditions, temperatures are much cooler up top
than in the valleys and conditions can be totally different
from down in the valleys.
