Edale Rescue Team In Dog Rescue

A bit of a cocker-up as Charlie the spaniel goes caving by mistake...

It was a proper dog day for Edale Mountain Rescue Team at the weekend when they were called out to rescue Charlie, a cocker spaniel who had fallen into a hole among boulders on the southern edge of Kinder and was unable to extricate himself.

Kinder dog rescue by Edale MRT

The team, together with members of Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation (DCRO) were called out to help the stricken canine with 21 team members working for five hours in poor weather to locate and retrieve the missing mutt.

Eventually a - presumably very slim - team member was lowered 10 feet down into a 1fit x 1.5ft hole to recover a very relieved dog. If you're a dog reading this, then please steer clear of deep holes on Kinder.

And all this without a terrible canine cocker-up pun. Ooops....
