OMers in a north of the border, Scottish sort of location, might like to know that there's just a week to go before the annual Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival kicks off again on the weekend of 21-23 October.

Apparently tickets are selling fast with a particular rush for some of the headline events predicted. In particular, Doug Scott's Sunday evening lecture which celebrates his historic climbs with Dougal Haston is likely to sell out in advance of the event.

Also popular are the Saturday evening film session and Alastair Lee's entertaining lecture High Mountains and Tall Tales. We could blather on, but to be honest, it makes more sense to direct you to the festival web site at www.edinburghmountainff.com

Ticket details are on the site, but they can be purchased in advance from branches of Tiso and from Alien Rock as well as on the door.
