Established European touring film event reaches the UK for the first time this November
The European Outdoor Film Tour has been established on the continent for the last ten years now and this November it's coming to the UK for the very first time with three 120-minute screenings of top adventure films at four British venues this November, 2012.
EOFT - a bit less of a mouthful - is all about taking some of the best adventure films out there, then slicing and dicing them to create a two-hour, integrated selection of non-stop action - 'If we think ten minutes of the film is boring', says Ulf Michels of EOFT, 'we take it out'.
That sounds like our sort of film tour. And if you've ever sat through some of the duller sections of film out there, you'll understand what we're saying. No names, no pack drill... And given the amount of practice they've had over the last decade, the EOFT folk should be pretty good at it by now as well.
We'll be bringing you more details, previews and trailers soon enough - the formidable Heason Events PR machine is rumbling into action as we right - but for now, we can tell you that the chosen UK venues are:
25 November - Manchester, Dancehouse.
26 November - Glasgow, Film Theatre.
27 November - Bristol, St George's.
28 November - London, RGS.
And just to whet your appetite a teensy, weensy bit - here's a still from Shapeshifter, one of this year's chosen films. Where, and we quote: 'Ben Marr shreds up the night waves with road flares strapped to the stern of his kayak. Spinning his kayak in the dark waters to a banging club tune.'
Actually the original said 'a catchy club tune', but banging sounds better. We've haven't seen the film though, so we guess it might just be 'catchy' after all.
