If your scrambling, climbing or even plain mountain walking is
held by a deeply seated terror of the abyss, Will 4 Adventure
may have the answer in the form of their newly-launched Fear of
Heights course.
The course, which will run in the Peak District in April and June
is aimed to help you confront your fear of heights through a
combination of neurolinguisitc programming (NLP), which aims to help
you program your unconscious mind to deal more calmly with exposure
and practical outdoor exercises in a controlled environment.
The idea is that next time you find yourself high up in the
outdoors, you can deal with the situation calmly and confidently
rather than being seized with irrational terror. What makes the
course different is the combination of both therapy and practical
exercises rather than one or the other.
All sounds good to us and you can combine the day-long fear of
heights sessions with a further day of basic rock climbing
instruction if you choose to.
The courses are organised by Will 4 Adventure's founder Will Legon
and cost £150 for the fear of heights day and an extra £50
for a second day of novice rock climbing tuition.
