Sir Rannulph Fiennes has failed to climb Everest having abandoned his summit attempt due to exhaustion.

It's the second time the veteran polar explorer has had to turn back on the upper slopes of the world's highest mountain despite high levels of fitness. On his previous attempt he succumbed to chest pains.

Bad luck! I have a feeling it won't be his last attempt, he appears to have the Everest bug.

What a shame! be nice if such a top bloke could achieve it - after all, he achieves most things he sets out to do. What a guy!

I still never got over that bit he did in interview on the Top Gear show! Talking about how he hacked off his own frostbitten fingers in his garden shed with a saw.

'The doctor later said that I made quite a good job of it, with the Black and Decker!'

Ouch!

Hard as nails that guy!
