Dragon's Back Race organiser Shane Ohly has been in touch to let us know that there are now an additional 15 places available in the epic multi-day mountain-running event which traverses the spine of Wales this September, 2012.

When entries originally opened for the Dragon's Back last year, there were over 300 enquiries for the initial 100 places on the race, so the extra 15 places are likely to be seriously sought after.

The additional capacity is a result of negotiations with land-owners along the course of the 200 mile plus route and by taking into account inevitable last-minute withdrawals.

It's only the second time the race has been run - the intial 1992 event features in iconic fell-running book, Feet In The Clouds - and make no mistake, it's a seriously tough event. As a result, competitors are vetted for suitable ultra-running and mountain-running experience and navigational skills before being offered a place.

More about the race - and some cracking images - in our past articles below, but if you're interested and have the relevant level of experience, fitness and skills, bob over to www.dragonsbackrace.com/enter/ and complete the on-line entry form.
