Yo adventure race fans! The first ever British Adventure Racing
Championships started yesterday - Sunday - morning in Snowdonia.
While you were having breakfast, some 16 teams were hiking, biking, climbing and paddling their
way around a 160-mile course on a need-to-know basis and still are. From the
start at Porthmadog on Sunday morning they were given only the first
day's route, with the rest being handed out as they progressed, and
the promise of a few surprises on the way.
They still don't know yet where they'll finish up after 72 hours
of racing, but if you want to follow what's happening try the
adventure racing site www.SleepMonsters.com
who are following the action 'live' and revealing all as it happens
thanks to hyper-active web guru and adventure race journo Rob Howard
and his trusty digital camera.
At the time of writing Team Lythgoe were heading the field with
Team The North Face lying a handy second.
