No, you weren't hallucinating, that really was a giant red nose on top of Skiddaw last Friday.

A team from Low Wood Events, the Windermere based Team Building & Event Management division of the English Lakes Hotel Group took just two hours to roll and carry the giant ball up one of the highest peaks in the Lake Ditrict in aid of Comic Relief.

Red Nose on Skiddaw

The nose measured a whopping four metres in diameter and while not quite visible from space, apparently could be made out from numerous locations around Keswick as it climbed the mountain.

The team included Low Wood Event’s director and former Olympian, Ian Woods.  He said: “Getting a four metre red ball to the top of a 3,000 foot mountain probably wasn’t the easiest way to raise money for charity.  But hopefully we’ll inspire lots of people to put their hands in their pockets and help make a difference to needy people both in the UK and overseas.”
