Gift Beta - Coffee Addicts Rejoice

Personal Java Press designed for optimum, unbreakable coffee in the outdoors.

Between now and Christmas Eve, we're going to be helping you with your outdoors present dilemmas with a new Christmas gift suggestion every - week - day. To kick things off, here's GSI Outdoors Personal Java Pressone for the outdoors caffeine addict in your life, in the form of GSI Outdoors' Personal Java Press.

More mild camping than wild camping - weight is a real life 314g - the Personal Java Press from GSI is a two-piece nesting press and personal mug both with removable insulated EVA sleeves made from hard to break BPA-Free Infinity clear polypropylene.

The press strips down and the mug sits inside it. The idea is that by using a separate mug, you avoid the muddy, over-brewed coffee you can get from an all-in-one press mug affair by pouring out the coffee after the optimum four minute brewing time.

Ah yes, the optimum time. The Personal Press comes with a set of very detailed instructions covering everything from basic use through to a detailed explanation of 'what makes the best coffee' - freshly ground arabica beans if you were wondering, and, erm, don't re-use your old grounds.

Anyway, we've used it, it works well, and it's a nice thing for car boot camping that'll save your glass press from campsite disasters. At over 300 grammes, we'd say it's a tad weighty for  lightweight backpacking, but then again, if you really value coffee on the move....

The GSI Outdoors Personal Java Press retails for £25 more information at www.gsioutdoors.com stockist details at www.rosker.co.uk or phone 02392 528711.

"freshly ground robusta beans"? why would i buy something that only works best with an inferior coffee bean?

i'll stick to the freshly ground arabica beans thank you.

well, their web site says use arabica not robusta, so i think we must blame jon doran's lack of connoisseur skillz

you looked at their web site? i wish i had that fortitude rather than my usual can't be bothered air

as i know how to make proper coffee without a press i'll stick to that process and save meself 300 odd gms.
