Hurrah
for the Ramblers' Association - concerned for our post-Christmas
wellbeing, they've got together with Cotswold Outdoor to organise the
Ramblers' Association's Cotswold Outdoor Festival of Winter
Walks.
The festival, and bear in mind - we're not quite talking the Rio
Carnival here - runs from Boxing Day to 3 January and comprises more
than 400 free walks across the country. Distances are mainly between
four and seven miles and all walks will be led by 'experienced walk
leaders'. It's actually Britain's largest walking festival, and we
bet you didn't know that.
Sounds like a good option for kickstarting the New Year and losing
some of the mince pie and Christmas pud from around your waist. You
can find more information on walks in your area at this
page on the RA web site.
And as a bonus, anyone taking part in one of the walks can get a 20 per-cent discount on membership to the Ramblers.
