Mobile torture chambers let you experience Gore fabrics at firsthand.
Gore is
touring the UK for the next five weeks with the
Experiential Rig Roadshow,
an interactive exhibition, which is designed to let you
try out Gore-Tex technologies
at firsthand.
There are three weather simulators on the mobile stand. The
Climate Cube gives
your feet a range of activities and extreme weather situations to
choose from. You can select motorcycling, commuting or hiking and your
Gore-Tex clad feet with be successively frozen, heated and exposed to
driving rain.
The
Glove Tester
is designed to demonstrate Gore's new 2 in 1 glove technology
which uses a double chamber construction to optimise grip
without compromising insulation - your ski pole-holding had is
alternately sprinkled with water then blown with both hot and cold air.
Finally the
Tri Tester
allows the participant to feel the waterproof, windproof and breathable
qualities of GORE-TEX® fabric., it says here.
Along with the interactive torture chambers, there are examples of
products from top brands like Arc’Teryx, Berghaus, Clarks, Craghoppers,
Dubarry, Ecco, Mountain Equipment, Musto, Rukka, Salomon, The North
Face, Terra Nova and Trekmates.
