Alan Hinkes is back in the UK after his successful expedition to
Kangchenjunga and has been speaking about claims that he failed to
climb Cho Oyu.
Talking to the Sunday Sun, he apparently said he was 'sick and
tired' of the rumours, that it was his word against their's and that
'it's just rubbish'.
"Where's their proof? It's just rubbish. In 1990 I had not even
decided to climb all 14 summits so why would I lie about it? To be
honest it is just tittle tattle from people who, in my opinion, have
nothing better to do.
""I climb for myself and my integrity and I would not be able to
live with myself if I had lied about Cho Oyu.
"Ironically, it's the easiest of all the 14 mountains, so if I
couldn't climb that, how could I climb any of the others?"
He added that he may climb Cho Oyu and Everest again, but because
he wants to, not because of the slurs.
Alan is the first Briton to climb all of the 8,000ers. We're due
to see him tomorrow, so if you have a question you'd like to ask,
please follow the forum link at the bottom of this story and we'll
see what we can do.
See the full
story in the Sunday Sun for more details.

We should be seeing Alan Hinkes tomorrow and will hopefully have a chance to interview him, so we'd like to know what you'd like to know. Got a question for Alan? Stick it down here and we'll see what we can do.
