How We Used To Live...
Like the new version, the original Countryside Code in the 1950s was promoted using cartoon images, they were slightly different though. Mind those cows...

The new Countryside Code - just out, see this
news article - uses Aardman Animations Creature Comforts
characters for promotion, in a bit of a parrallel, the original 1950s
Countryside Code was promoted by a series of Norman Thelwell
cartoons.
We thought a couple of them might make you smile. Makes you wonder if the Aardman stuff will look quite as dated in
50 years time, we still quite fancy the lass in the third cartoon,
though of course she'd be around 70 now, if she was real, of course,
rather than just a line drawing.
For the new Countryside Code, which has been welcomed
by the Ramblers' Association you know, see this
web site. Pics courtesy of the Countryside Agency. And yes, it is a
slow news day :-)
