Mapping software specialist Anquet
has announced the imminent release of versions to run on both the iPhone and Apple Macintosh
computers allowing users to run both Ordnance Survey and other Anquet
mapping. The company is now looking for beta testers as the final stage
in development.
The project has been a major focus for the company in 2009 and the
software is, says Anquet, now in final internal testing. The next step
is a public beta testing programme before the system goes live
officially.
Anquet says: 'These are very exciting developments which will bring the
ease of Anquet to these platforms. Although these products both heavily
use our internal knowledge from our PC experience, both new user
interfaces have been designed to use the full range of Apple controls
to make these native applications.'
Ordnance Survey mapping is already available for both platforms from
RouteBuddy, but Anquet's software seems likely to be more
sophisticated.
