It's Those Freakin' Sheep Again...

Sheep are being cynically fleeced by Lake District tourist bosses in a callous move to garner pre-Christmas headlines and promote the area we can reveal.

Those whacky folk at the Cumbria Tourist Board are at it again. Not content with their Crazy Frog bashing 'Baarmy Sheep' ring tone, they've now launched their own ovine version of Jingle Bells to rival the froggy Christmas single released later this week.

It's clearly a shameless attempt to manipulate the meeja by churning out press releases groaning with the sheer weight of dreadful puns and, fercrissakes, embargoed till tomorrow. Well, we're having none of it, especially as the 'song' and accompanying movie are already available on the GoLakes web site.

You can't beat a pretty sheep dressed up wth some nice tinsel and the odd bauble
or so they say in the Lakes, allegedly...

It's bloody awful really. No, honestly it is. And to make things worse, there's also - and we're not sure what this means - Baarmy Sheep Christmas megamix featuring their rendition of Good King Wenceslas, Hark The Herald Angels Sing and While Shepherds Watch Their Flocks By Night…

Eric Robson, chairman of Cumbria Tourist Board, allegedly said: "Christmas may be the season of goodwill to all men - but not Crazy Frog's!

"Visitors from all over the world love the Lake District and our sheep, so we're confident people will prefer our version."

"Who knows, a break in Cumbria - the Lake District might be the only place to escape the Crazy Frog and the stress of Christmas this year!"

So there you go. Masochists can point their browsers at www.golakes.co.uk You know, it almost makes you long nostalgically for the Crazy Frog. Not that that's going to last...
