Top technical brand Mountain Hardwear is looking for a hungry young British climber to join its Mountain Academy later this month with all expenses paid for the chosen applicant.
The event's being run in conjunction with Black Diamond and Italian footwear specialist, Aku and takes place in the Mont Blanc area with the aim of getting young climbers from all over Europe together to experience, it says here, 'unforgettable mountaineering adventures'. And as the sponors of Ueli Steck, Mountain Hardwear should know all about those.
It works like this: the selected applicants will spend quality time with a mix of top professional mountain athletes - including the likes of Liv Sansoz and Samuel Anthamatten - and professional guides, they'll be able to climb and learn with the pros on the mountain as well as learning to work as part of a multi-cultural team.
Oh, and you'll also be kitted out with free clothing and gear from MHW, Black Diamond and AKU, which sounds okay to us.
"Mountain Hardwear is a leader in product technology and innovation and the Mountain Academy is just one demonstration of the company’s support and dedication to alpinism from the grassroots.' Says llongstanding Mountain Hardwear athlete and Brit, Tim Emmett.
"The opportunity to get a UK climber on board is incredibly exciting and the challenges and experiences which they’ll get on Mont-Blanc with the rest of the team really will make their trip unforgettable.”
If that sounds like you and you're aged between 18 and 35 then you have until 17 June to get your application in. You can find a whole bunch of info along with some blogs from past participants at themountainacademy2.wordpress.com or via facebook.com/themountainacademy.
