KEEN Dream Big Competition Winners

We're thinking someone's going to be feeling just a tad pleased with themselves today...

And in case you were wondering, this is what Lofoten looks like - image from the OM Gallery by Ian Robertson.

While somewhat closer to home, this is romantic Buttermere by Neil H from the gallery.

We've chosen the winners of our Dream Big with KEEN Footwear competition and it was a difficult task because we were blown away by the standard of the entries overall. But there can be only one outright winner who lands the chance to live out their dream weekend away courtesy of KEEN Footwear. Oh, and two runners up.

And so, in a very particular order, here's the Dream Big podium. Congratulations to the winners and of course commiserations to those that didn't win. Better luck next time.

Third Place

Third place and the winner of two pairs of KEEN footwear was AT with this romantic Lakeland plan:

'I'd spend the weekend in Buttermere where I first met fellow OMer Elaina (aka TBW!). Not been back since we met on what was for both of us our first OM meet seven years ago. Might opt for a bit of luxury this time by staying at the Fish Inn rather than the campsite! Would go for a walk along Red Pike, High Stile, and High Crag finishing on Wainwright’s favourite hill Hay Stacks followed by a romantic meal and a pint or two of real ale.'

Second Place

Runner-up and winner of two pairs of KEEN footwear and a goody bag was Jen Whelan - so close and yet, not quite, but very lyrical anyway...

'As a teacher, that bell means a weekend of fun, 
heading North to Ski or South to the Sun. 
My dream adventure mixes up initiative and glamour,
by being given spruce logs, rope but no nails or a hammer.
Sweden excites and delights with its sight to be explored
as we raft, camp and travel on our home made logged board
Please send me down the Klaralven River, with equipment that handles
meanders, falls and weirs together with those awesome Turia Sandals!

The Winner

But like we said, there can be only one outright winner and it is - drum roll - Wizard who wins a dream long weekend in Norway together with two pairs of KEEN shoes. Congratulations and here's the winning entry:

'Wild, walking, waves, wind. I'm another whose dream would be the Lofoten Islands. It would be like visiting a sweet shop, so I'd just have to try a bit of everything and see how my Keen kit copes! Oh, and as it is my weekend it will be a long one ;-), as it is the only way to fit things in. So, in no particular order, would involve 1) climbing a major peak (overnighting to Hermannsdalstinden would be perfect, if possible), 2) experiencing the Maelstrom by boat, and 3) having my first taste of paragliding (I think not from the top of Hermannsdalstinden!). Then I'd have a 3rd part to my prize: an enormous grin :-)'

KEEN Bonus Prize

And finally, winner of the bonus prize for the most votes was Lindac123 who lands a pair of KEEN shoes for this entry.

'My dream weekend would be camping in the woods with the family cooking over an open fire and sat up around the fames talking and telling stories all night the next day would be spent mountain biking around the forest and fishing in a lake with some horse riding along the way : )'
