Right now and there's live streaming video with the likes of Bonington and Houlding too.

A quick last minute reminder that the Keswick Mountain Festival kicks off today, Wednesday 13 May, 2009 with a great mix of guided activities including some ace-looking walks, and evening events like talks, films and lectures.

The festival - see previous news - runs through over the coming weekend and finishes on Sunday 17 May and is rather invitingly sponsored by Jennings Brewery and the Ordnance Survey. Beer and maps eh, what more could you ask for.

Here's a taster from the 2007 vintage...

Live Video

And innovatively, the web site is also due to be carrying live video direct from the festival - today, Wednesday, Rosie Swale-Pope is going to be broadcasting between 17:00 and 20:00 live from the top of Latrigg. Then for the rest of the week, there will be live forecasts from the Theatre by the Lake from 18:00-19:00 then again from 20:00-21:30.

That means you can catch live talks from the likes of Graeme Obree, Mark Beaumont, Chris Bonington, Leo Houlding and Dr Mike Stroud completely for free.

There's a full downloadable programme available from the Festival web site along with online booking facilities. Just check out www.keswickmountainfestival.co.uk.
