Keswick Mountain
Festival 2010 runs from
19-23 May with a
comprehensive mix of activities, competitions and some great speakers
in the heart of the north Lakes area.

Big name speakers this year include top climber, BASE jumper, star of
film and television and local lad to boot, Leo Houlding along with
polar explorer and vertigo-suffering Everest summiteer Sir Ranulph
Fiennes, not to mention Andy Cave, the ace Andy Kirkpatrick,
Joss Naylor, Kenny Stuart, Dave Birkett and Doug Scott CBE.

And when you're tired of the lecture programme at the Theatre By The
Lake, you can decamp to the 'Adventure Base' on the shores of
Derwentwater and browe activity-themed areas where you an
pick up tips from the experts, see the latest gear from top brands and
try new activities for size. Biking, climbing, hiking, paddling, kids
and triathlon will all be there.
There's also an organised open water swim, the launch of three new
sportives, fell races and forest trail walking. If you're on two
wheels, check out the three-hour Epic Trailquest mountain biking
orienteering event, which you can tailor to suit your level of
experience and ability.
Dry Tooling And Courses...
You want more? DMM is sponsoring a Dry Tooling competition on the
Thursday evening with comeptitors climbing a rock wall using ice tools
and crampons. There are also skills courses on offer with
climbing, abseiling and ghyll scrambling all featuring.
