We're rather liking photographer Henry Iddon's project to
capture images of the Lake District by night this morning -
it's an ideal way to forget about all that rain and gloom
outside...
Iddon, a professional photographer and art practicioner, noticed
that most night-time photography seemed to concentrate on the urban
environment, so he's decided to 'produce a cohesive body of work that
considers the vast landscape of the Lake District at night.'

The work, apparently, 'centres on the themes and philosophies of
Wordsworth and the Romantics', and in particular tries to capture the
peace of the area, which is now more apparent at night than during
the day.
Anyway, the bottom line is that some of the images are available
to view via a clickable Google Map on Iddon's web site and they're
rather lovely. We really like the way man's involvement is confined
to small spots of artificial light dwarfed by the fells, check out
the image of Yewbarrow and Wasdale Head to see what we're
going on about....
You can find the clickable Google Map at www.spots-of-time.co.uk
but don't blame us if you find yourself sucked in to an all-day
landscape photography fest :-)
