British outdoors footwear brand, Anatom, has become the Lake District National Park's official footwear and sock partner with Park Rangers to be kitted out with Anatom Q3 trekking boots and Teko socks and a donation being made from sales of each to help sustain the Lakes landscape.
The Q3 boot, says Anatom, was chosen after 'arduous testing and a tough selection process' and will be supplied to National Park Rangers in the Lakes. It's a classic British mountain walking boot with 2.8mm full grain Italian leather uppers teamed with Anatom's own TriAria waterproof and breathable liner, a Vibram sole unit and an underfoot Calibrated Flex System.
The Teko socks, which will again be supplied to Park Rangers, use a merino wool-based fibre called SIN3RGI which is claimed to be faster-drying and more durable than rival merino socks.
You'll be able to find both socks and boots in special limited edition packaging to promote the partnership, and in addition, a percentage of sales from each product will, it says here, be donated to the Lake District National Park to ' help sustain and enhance the National Park’s spectacular landscape'.
Gordon Fraser, Managing Director of the Anatom Group of Companies, comments: “We are passionate about feet, footwear and fitting. We also take our environmental and social responsibilities extremely seriously. We ensure that we select components and materials which are durable and sustainable. Our partnership with the Lake District National Park is a very natural fit for us in terms of the values that both organisations share.”
