Victoria Spurr, the founder of Sheffield-based online women's
outdoor clothing store Lasseswotwalk.com has been named one of
Britain's Top 25 business heroes in The Barclays Trading
Places Awards.
The awards were set up to recognise people who've overcome various
barriers and battled against the odds to positively change their
lives by setting up a business and Victoria's now in the running to
scoop a top prize worth over £7,000 this October.
Victoria was an unemployed clothing buyer last year when she
spotted a gap in the market for a shop specialising in
women's-specific outdoor clothing that fitted properly and looked
good too.

Lasses wot walk on the prowl in
their local hills, that's Vic second from right.
The result was the launch of lasseswotwalk.com last
September and, despite some lean times, turnover has trebled since
the launch and she now has plans to launch Ladswotwalk.com and
Kidswotwalk.com.
Big congratulations to Victoria. Lasseswotwalk now stocks
women's-specific kit from the likes of Montane, Craghoppers, Regatta,
Trekmates, Ronhill, Sprayway and others.
