If you're keen on using GPS for navigation, but a little baffled by how
to use the cunning little satellite-guided critters, GPS Training might
have the answer with their Lakes-based
training weekend this October.
 The
GPS Navigation Weekend is scheduled to take place from 3-5 October,
2008 at the YHA Borrowdale. It's an ideal location with primo mountain
terrain on the doorstep making it a great place to get to grips with
navigation both electronic and traditional.
The weekend includes workshops covering Map & Compass, GPS,
Memory-Map & Topo and you'll be able to practice your new
skills
with expert guidance, learn about geocaching and track down real caches
on high mountain terrain and lots more besides. You could even win free
beer for a year courtesy of Cumberland Geotrails. Hmmm...
Cost of the weekend including two nights accommodation and all
activities is £149
per person. You can find full details and booking at www.gpstraining.co.uk
or telephone 01768 885855.
