Here's one for your diary - Conrad Anker, the American mountaineer who was one of the team who discovered Mallory's body, is going to be presenting his talk 'The Lost Explorer - The Discovery of Mallory on Everest' at Cotswold Outdoor's HQ in South Cerney on January 29th.

The talk is one of only two on a whistle-stop tour which the North Face-sponsored climber is making of the UK and should be fascinating, regardless of what you think of the whole Mallory-Irvine ethical debate.

Anker is an interesting character in his own right. For some background, take a look at this touching profile which appeared in Outside Magazine and his web page. 'In his spare time Conrad studies watercolor painting and stays in shape for his ascents with a rigorous training regime of running, skiing and of course by climbing. a lot.' It says here.

Tickets are priced at £6.50, to find out where to get them, check this page on the Cotswold site.
