The BBC is reporting that a man was seriously injured after falling from Snowdon's Crib Goch ridge at the weekend.

The 37-year-old, thought to be from Warrington, is reported to have fallen between 500 and 600 feet from the popular knife-edge ridge, which forms the first part of the classic Snowdon horseshoe scramble.

The route is technically straightforward but very exposed in places with big drops on either side.

He was airlifted to hospital in Bangor with head injuries and the BBC reports that his condition is 'critical'.
