There was a nice piece about the Matterhorn in the weekend's Observer by Ed Douglas.

A quick heads-up on a nice article from this weekend's Observer Travel section about the Matterhorn - or more strictly speaking - the Breithorn, by outdoors writer Ed Douglas.

The Matterhorn's northern side by Oliver Preece - OM album

Definitely worth a read as Douglas undertakes a guided ascent of the Breithorn - the Matterhorn's friendlier neighbour - as part of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Alpine Club and in the company of climbing legends like Doug Scott and Stephen Venables.

Interesting stuff from one of the birthplaces of alpinism. Full story at www.guardian.co.uk
