The latest release from Memory
Map is a range of digital guides based on AA recommended pubs,
B&Bs, Caravan and Camping sites and Days Out, which you can use
with Memory Map software to pinpoint the position of AA-rated points of
interest.
 We've
got a copy of the Pub
Guide 2009 and found it relatively easy to install and
use. If you already have Memory Map, then it's just a case of copying
the AA POIs - points of interest - over to your existing software. If
you're new to the programme, the disc also contains Memory Map
software, some mapping and demo mapping that you can use without charge
for 30 days.
When you activate the POIs, a neat beer glass icon appears for each of
the 2000 inns and taverns featured showing the exact location on the
map and giving you a link to the pub's web site, where there is one. It
works both with the overview maps, but also with the more detailed OS
mapping making it easy to incorporate quality refreshment stops on your
walks or even just start and finish from one :-)
Each of the four guides cost £15
and the titles available are pubs, caravan and camping sites, days out
and bed and breakfast establishments. You can buy the guides from
Memory Map stockists or direct from the Memory Map web site at www.memory-map.co.uk.
