Esy to use app interface.

A rapid heads-up for Scottish midge haters who have iPhones, with the news that there's now an app for that available from the app store.

The Midge Forecast is pretty much what it says on the can being a daily  and seven-day midge forecast for the whole of Scotland covering over 50 locations and rating them on a scale of one to five. Ingeniously, you can even add your own ratings using Twitter.

The iPhone app is a free one, easy to use and simply reproduces the information found on the web at www.midgeforecast.co.uk – what we can tell you is that Glencoe is always high on the midge scale, so if you're not fond of the wee biting beasties, it's one to avoid over summer.

You can find the app in the app store via this link.

They need to sort out their geography a bit. Apparently, 'Galloway' is a bit west of Lochgilphead; Loch Fyne is a third of the way down Loch Tay, on the opposite bank from Blair Drummond; Balmoral is just outside Stirling; Loch Ness is on Eigg etc etc So, do the forecasts relate to the place names, or the positions on the maps?
