Walkers exploring a disused mine in the Lake District have found the body of a missing doctor from Sale.

The walkers reportedly came across the body in a disused slate mine on the slopes of the Old Man. Dr Richard Stevens has been missing since July last year when he went missing from Pendlebury Childrens' Hospital in Manchester.

The body hasn't yet been formally identified, but provisional identification has reportedly left police near certain that the body is that of the missing doctor.
