Stop Press - Now available to buy on line at www.montane.co.uk
Montane's Limited Edition Mountain Rescue range is set to be for sale at the Outdoors Show at the NEC over the weekend and, simultaneously, direct from Montane's own web site with the aim of raising £50,000 for mountain rescue.
Over 50% of the retail price from each garment will go direct to Mountain Rescue England and Wales, making it a superb way to contribute to an invaluable, voluntarily-finded and staffed service and to pick up some very neat technical kit at the same time.
The range - a mix of existing products and one-offs - comes in a distinctive black with red trimmings and Limited Edition badge. Products include a lightweight windproof, stretch waterproof jacket, insulated top, microfleece pullover and sotshell trousers.
The latter, the Dynamic Pants, are probably the most interesting item for hardcore gearheads. They're made from a 'not yet available' fabric, Polartec Stretch Poweshield, which won't otherwise be available for months, and retail for £65 with £35 of that going direct to Mountain Rescue.
For background on the range, check out this OM Blog Post by Montane's Tim Butcher, where you can also find full specs and prices for the various items.
So, if you need to update your wardrobe and help a good cause at the same time, there's no better way of doing it.
