North East outdoors brand Montane
is set to launch an innovative new promotion
to raise £50,000 for mountain rescue teams in
England and Wales with proceeds from the sale of limited edition
outdoor kit going direct to teams.
Does what it says on the
can...
The plan to produce a series of limited edition kit - no more than 300
of each item - in a distinctive black with red detailing colour scheme,
which will be sold in aid of mountain rescue in what Montane reckons is
the biggest single fundraising intiative ever for the cause.
The entire margin raised by each of the garments will be donated by
Montane and the good news is that they will also be slightly cheaper
than usual as well, so not only do you raise money for a great cause,
you also get a fantastic deal on new kit.
Garments earmarked for the promotion include a Stretch Entrant
waterproof shell jacket, a special edition of the Primaloft ECO-filled
Prism jacket, a simple microfleece top and, most interesting of all, a
pant made from a stretch Polartec PowerShield that isn't even available
in other garments until 2011.
Montane iscurrently finalising details of how the garments will be
sold, but you should be able to buy them direct from the company at the
2010 Outdors Show at the NEC and we'll let you know just as soon as
full information is available.
In the mean time, all we can say is that it's a brilliant idea and all
in a fantastic cause.
