OM Routes gets Snowdonia influx, Lakes highest peak a Twitter page and more...
Lots more new routes added to the
OUTDOORSmagic
Routes section over the past few days including
three classic trails up Snowdon, an ascent of England's highest peak
from Wasdale, a North Yorks moors yomp and a Carneddau classic.
In addition, OM Routes Editor, Dave Mycroft has set up a
Twitter page,
where he's linking to new routes as they go live, so you can use that
as the basis for an RSS feed if you want to. Or simply marvel at the
questionable wonderfulness of Twitter. There's an
OUTDOORSmagic Twitter page
as well if you're that way inclined.
Snowdon's new summit
monstrosity...
On the routes front, new stuff includes
Snowdon
via the Watkin Path, the classic approach from
the south side of the mountain and a lot quieter than the crowded
Llanberis and Pen y Pas classics. And
Snowdon
via the Rhyd Ddu Path an eastern classic. Then
there's the
Snowdon
Ranger, another stunning but quieter option on
the mountain.
More from Snowdonia in the form of a classic
Tryfan
/ Glyderrau / Y Garn traverse and a linear route
along the
Carneddau.
Note that you can join some of these Welsh routes together for a full
Welsh 3000s round.
Other new stuff includes
Scafell
Pike from Wasdale Head and an easy wander around
Levisham
Moor in North Yorkshire.
And of course there's lots more beside, just check out the
Routes
Section front page and use the search engine.
You can use OM's routes software to share your favourite routes with
other OMers or simply map out your own favourite walks, check distances
and ascent figures and keep them on file for your own personal use.
Enjoy.
