Mountain Rescue Busy On Skye

2 rescues, 1 dead on Cuillin Ridge

The BBC are reporting two major incidents in the last 24 hours on Skye's famous Cuillin Ridge.  The first incident occured yesterday afternoon on the Am Basteir Ridge, where two climbers fell resulting in a fatality. A second incident occurred just hours later when a man fell 30m on Sgurr Nan Eag. Over half the Skye MRT were involved in the first callout, with a further 12 in poor visibility involved in the second rescue. More details from the BBC.

OM members are presently on Skye, with a further meet there shortly, and it's been confirmed that everyone's safe and sound.
