It's National Parks Week between 30 July and 5
August and National Parks around the UK will be celebrating by
oranising events designed to celebrate some of the best landscapes in
the country.
As an example, the Lake District National Park has organised a
week-long programme which includes guided walks taking in the fells,
valleys and Cumbrian coast.
On Wednesday 1 August, the Lake District Visitor Centre at
Brockhole, on the shores of Windermere, is holding a special kids'
day with activities like bird watching and quickie crafts sessions.
Much more besides.
Anyone wanting more information on the week or on any of the
events listed in the events guide Out & About 2007 should call
015394 46601 or check out www.lake-district.gov.uk/events
There are plenty of other events across all 14 of the UK's
National Parks and to make it easy to find out what's on in each
area, the National Parks has put together a comprehensive list of
events at www.nationalparks.gov.uk.
