Alastair Lee's latest film, On
Sight premieres this Thursday
16 October in Sheffield and even before it's official
release, it's being touted as the most eagerly anticipated and
ground-breaking British climbing film since Hard Grit.
According to Ed Douglas writing in the November issue of Climber
magazine, not only are some of the ascents covered in the film 'mind
boggling', but it goes far beyond that, highlighting the raw intensity
of climbing hard routes 'on sight' - that is, with no practice or
rehearsal - and allowing the climbers themselves to talk passionately
about the difference between on-sighting and the rehearsed, mechanical
process of rehearsed attempts.
On Sight is, reckons Douglas, Lee's best film yet, which given his
track record, is a pretty impressive achievement. The cast list isn't
bad either with a small crag-full of top climbers including the likes
of Leo Houlding, Dave Birkett, Ian Parnell, Gaz Parry and more, with
comment from the likes of John Redhead and Jerry Moffet.
Anyway, don't take our word for it. You can find more details, clips,
stills, trailers and so on at www.posingproductions.com
