Looks impressively tall from where we're sitting...

A short and sweet heads up for anyone local to the Stoke on Trent area - the new Kilnworx Climbing Centre in Burslem is now open for business from 10am to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 8pm at weekends.

The new centre threw open its doors last week and has more than 75 routes equipped with both bolts and top ropes . The centre caters for a wide spread of abilities from raw beginners through to more experienced climbers and runs courses from introductory stuff right through to more advanced skills.

And that's just the start of it - as Kilnworx develops, there will also be traversing areas, archery facilities - don't shoot the climbers - fitness classes and more.

Right now, you can also save on annual membership with an introductory offer of an annual pass for £250, a saving of £115 over the full rate of £365. It's a time limited offer, so if you want to take advantage, you'd better be quick.

So there you go. There are some images of the new centre below - sniff that chalk - and you can find full details at www.kilnworx.org. Alternatively email climb@kilnworx.org or phone 01782 938491.
