Latest volume from Lonely Planet is The Lake District Travel Guide
complete with walking, biking and driving - no... - routes.
Of course those are just a
small part of the book which in true Lonely Planet fashion sets out to
tell you pretty much everything you need to know about the area
including wildlife information, insider tips from locals, getting
around without a car, food and accommodation advice and lots more.
Hardened Lakes visitors will no doubt scoff, but if you're planning a
trip to the Lakes and don't know your Ullswater from your Buttermere
then it looks like a great way to short circuit the learning process
and make the most of your time away.
Normal price is £10.99
and the print version is due out shortly, but if you can't wait, it's
possible to pay for and download individual chapters from the book at shop.lonelyplanet.com.
You can also pre-order the book at the Lonely Planet site, or save
yourself a quid and buy for £9.99
as a special introductory offer at the Lake District tourism site Go
Lakes - www.golakes.co.uk
