It's hard to find fee mountain-specific weather forecasts, so
we're all in favour of a new trial that allows you to download
detailed PDF - that's an Acrobat Reader file - forecasts for four
major mountain areas.

The forecasts downloads in PDF
format
and cover four popular areas

Meterological Consultants - a posh name for weather men - Geoff
Monk and Associates have introduced the forecasts on a trial basis
with the ultimate aim of attracting funding for a full 'Mountain
Weather Information Service' and the areas covered at the moment are
the East and West Highlands, plus the Lakes and the Peak.
The forecasts are issued later afternoon, one day in advance, and
include useful information in an easy to understand format, including
wind, its likely effect on walkers, temperature on the tops, rain and
a general UK mountain forecast, so you know roughly what's going
on.
We're all in favour, it's a great idea and a brilliant resource
for anyone heading out to the areas covered. You can visit the site
and download forecasts here. Oh, and take the time to register your interest. It could help to establish the forecasts on a permanent basis.
